We are seeking applications for an Online Interview to fill a temporary unreserved Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position funded by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, under an ongoing Emeritus Scientist project.

Essential Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in relevant subjects (Plant Biotechnology/Plant Physiology/Plant Biochemistry/Life Sciences) with a 4-year/5-year Bachelor’s degree. Candidates with a Postgraduate degree in basic Sciences with a 3-year Bachelor’s degree and a 2-year master’s degree should have NET qualification and 2 years of research experience, as specified in OM No Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July 2015, OM No Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October 2015 of the Council, and OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30th January 2019 for eligibility.

Desirable qualifications:

Experience in subjecting crop plants to abiotic stresses in both field conditions and controlled environments, along with the ability to conduct physiological, biochemical, and molecular analyses for stress tolerance.

House Rent Allowances (HRA) will be provided according to the prevailing central government rates applicable in the respective cities/locations where Senior Research Fellows (SRF) or Research Associates (RA) are engaged in ICAR funded projects.

How to Apply:

To apply for the Senior Research Fellow (SRF) positions, interested candidates must adhere to the following instructions:

  • Age Limit: The maximum age limit for male applicants applying for SRF positions is 35 years. However, women, SC, ST, and OBC candidates are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5 years as per the Government of India/ICAR rules.
  • Applicants currently employed must submit a No Objection Certificate from their current employer.
  • Prepare a biodata as per the format provided in Annexure 1. Submit this biodata along with attested copies of certificates including 10th, 12th, Under-graduation, post-graduation, Ph.D., and NET/GATE. Affix an attested recent passport size photograph on the biodata. The biodata should list academic qualifications starting from 10th Standard to the maximum qualification with percentages obtained, and any distinctions/medals received. Failure to provide this information will result in the non-awarding of academic scores.
  • Candidates should submit office orders for research experience, in addition to certificates from the Principal Investigators (PIs), where applicable.
  • Submit project work reports/theses, testimonials/experience certificates, published research papers, etc., to support claims of experience.
  • The SRF positions are purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis initially for six months or the project duration, whichever is earlier. The tenure may be extended based on the incumbent’s satisfactory performance. There is no provision for re-engagement after the termination of the scheme. Selected candidates cannot claim regular appointment at the institute as the fellowship is co-terminus with the respective scheme.
  • In the event of unsatisfactory performance, SRFs will be terminated from the post with one-month notice.
